Touch a Truck

We took the boys to a local "touch a truck" event on Saturday.  They were a little overwhelmed at first by all of the people, honking horns, and sirens, but eventually, they decided it was pretty cool!
They got to explore emergency vehicles, waste management trucks, monster trucks, a giant department of homeland security bus, and farm and construction equipment!  We didn't make it to the helicopter, but we did get to watch it take off. :)
My future garbage man? ;)

I don't know if it's the same for all little boys, but ours absolutely love trucks (and really anything that goes)!  It was fun to do something geared -no pun intended- perfectly for them!  They hear "no" a lot and Lance and I have to say "no" a lot, so we all love an opportunity to just let them explore freely for a change!

Pink or Blue?

We will know if baby is a boy or girl in about three months, but in the meantime, we've been having fun and enjoying the guessing game.

Our Opinions:

I don't have a strong feeling, but would probably guess that the baby is a boy.

From day one, Caysen has been convinced the baby is a girl.

Lance leans more toward boy, but like me, he doesn't really have a feeling one way or the other.

Beckett calls all girls "Mama" and all boys "Dada" and has very little understanding about the whole "baby in the belly" concept.  I think it's safe to say he has no opinion on the matter. ;)

Wives Tales:

Morning sickness = girl
No morning sickness = boy
One point for girl.

Heart rate above 140 = girl
Heart rate below 140 = boy
Again, girl.

Prefer to lay on left side = boy
Prefer to lay on right side = girl
Left is much more comfortable; one for boy.

Steals your beauty = girl
Gives you that pregnant glow = boy
Definitely girl!

Carrying high = girl
Carrying low = boy
Boy for sure!

Craving sweets = girl
Craving salty = boy
I have craved sweets other than a short lived almond stuffed green olive phase.  Girl.

Silky smooth legs = girl
Hairy gorilla legs = boy
This has been one of the perks of pregnancy for me!  Girl.

Full round face during pregnancy = girl
Narrow thin face during pregnancy = boy
Another one for boy.

The wives tales seem to be relatively evenly split, but girl has a slight edge.

Baby Dolls:

I ordered a baby doll for each of the boys as a gift when the baby comes and so they can have their "own" baby to take care of.  Some of the babies come with a pink outfit and some come with a blue outfit, but it's completely random and you don't get to choose.  I thought ahead of time that maybe it would be some sort of sign.  Well, the babies arrived and they are both girls!

Thankfully, we both feel very excited and completely at peace with the idea of either gender.  I just can't wait for baby to get here safe and sound!
