Try It

As is typical in most homes with young children, or at least in our home, the hour before dinner is Mama and Baby meltdown central!  Caysen wants to be held while I'm trying to pull dinner together and straighten up the chaos that is our house.  I decided to try something new.  Rather than just surviving "the witching hour", we did something to make it fun.  Let me tell you, it made life so much easier!  Instead of a toddler whining and head-butting my shins (yes, he really does that), Caysen played happily and I enjoyed watching him while I worked.  I just threw an old table cloth on the floor, gave him some water, flour, pudding, bowls, and spoons and let him go to town.  I do have a strict "stay on the table cloth" rule though because this Type A Mama can't handle a sticky mess or finger prints on everything! To anyone trying to make the last hour before Daddy gets home a little more enjoyable, I would highly recommend it!

Craft-A-Holic

Jewelery Hooks. I picked out the knobs, and the hubs voluntarily did the rest.

I can't get enough of DIY and crafting!  The latest two projects were inspired by, you guessed it, Pinterest!

Vinyl Wall Decal.  Made with the help of my Silhouette Cameo.

Decorating and Crafting Part I

I had a break from school during December and January and I got to do a little crafting and decorating:

After Christmas, things got springy! I know, it's only January in Colorado; spring is nowhere near springing ;)

Decorating and Crafting Part II

I hung frames in the dining room (With the help of my S-I-L).

I used my new Silhouette Cameo to fill those frames!

Pillows aren't sewn yet, but I did choose fabric ;)

A little idea I found on Pinterest.

I finally matted and framed Lance's Father's Day gift!

And I crafted a cute shirt for Caysen that he wore to ring in the New Year!!

Christmas In Pictures

Caysen liked opening presents this year.  He opened his stocking first where he found two pairs of sunglasses and some goldfish crackers (among other things).  He was so excited about those two items that it took him a while before he decided he wanted to see what was in all the boxes.

Here he is with his loot ;)

We had a traditional Christmas meal with ham, prime rib, mashed potatoes, rolls, salad, carrots, green beans, and chocolate pudding cake (Lance's favorite) for dessert.

Lance was really excited about his Christmas present ;)

My Grandma "Honey" got to be with us which made my heart happy.

After presents and food, we went on a little stroll through the neighborhood.

It was pretty chilly so Caysen was bundled up.

While on our walk, I was reminded of the beauty that is literally right outside my front door.

Sometimes I can't believe I live here!

We had a wonderful Christmas blessed with friends, family, and love.
