One Week!!!

I can't believe I leave for Taiwan in 1 week! Looks like Caysen's excited too :)

Building You a Home...

First, we had to disassemble the guest room. Then Lance put the crib together:

My decorator sister-in-law came into town just in time to help: Love them :)

Lance and my dad put more furniture together:

I actually did help, A LOT, but I was always behind the camera so it looks like I was being a bit of a slacker ;)

And here is our labor of love:

The pillow in the chair says "Buttons".

This "updated" frame has actually been in the family for over 100 years; my mother-in-law was so nice to offer it to us!

With some buttons and a little grout, it looks like a whole new frame. And as Lance put it, there's a button for every time we've thought of our sweet Caysen :)

I still have a few things I want to do, including adding some touches of Taiwan, but everything else will just come together as I find the perfect additions over time.

There's really only one thing missing, a sweet little boy...but it won't be long!

Stuck On the Couch

I'm not good at being sick; sitting still for more than a few minutes just isn't my thing...but I've been alternating between bed and couch since Thursday and I. AM. BORED! You know what helps? This picture:

I've Got A Golden Ticket!!!

Ok, it's not golden, it's paper and it will arrive on Tuesday via fed-ex! What is this ticket for??? It's a ticket to Taiwan!!!!!! That's right, in less than three weeks, I'll be boarding a plane headed to Taiwan where I'll finally get to meet that beautiful little boy I am always gushing about :) :) :) :)

We haven't received our final decree which is when a family is typically allowed to travel, but because of Caysen's need for physical therapy, I will be going over early so I can work with him on a daily basis. I am more than excited and would post a picture of the perma-grin on my face, but I'm sick as a dog and have been in bed since yesterday at noon so I don't think it would be a very pretty sight ;)

Lance will be joining me in Taiwan once we have our final decree. In a perfect world, we would get to meet our precious Caysen at the same time; but we both agree that this is best for everyone and I can't wait to hand Caysen over to his daddy for the first time!

Please pray for an un-eventful trip for both of us and a smooth transition in Taiwan. I love my Lance and know it will be tough to be away from him for any amount of time, so maybe pray that I'll be able to handle that part too ;)

Two of my s-i-l's (my brother's wife and Lance's sister) teamed up to throw me a Cowboy Caysen themed baby shower. It turned out so cute and we had a great time!!!

Caysen

Christel Hatcher, a wonderful girl who has His Hands baby sleepovers at her house from time to time, sent us this great video of Caysen! I believe this was Caysen's first sleepover with Christel; looks like he had a great time ;)

Our sweet boy has a court date coming up in less than 24 hours! His court date is June 9th at 2:30 pm (Taiwan time) which is 12:30 am tonight (Colorado time). Say a prayer that everything goes well and the judge's heart is touched by Caysen's story.

So Close We Can Almost Touch

Last night, I was feeling a little sad that Caysen is so far away (he is pretty much on the other side of the world). But then I started thinking about how God is watching over and comforting both of us at the same time. It really makes the world seem a lot smaller and Caysen and Lance and I don't seem so far apart. There is just something in knowing that God is carrying us both through that helps me continue on with patience knowing that we'll get to hold our boy when the time is right.

We received another update yesterday with these pictures! He looks like such a big boy to me:
