Welcome to Taiwan!

After about 24 hours of travelling, I made it to Taiwan! The trip wasn't bad at all; I actually slept almost the whole flight from LA to Taipei which made it go by really fast. Only problem is, now it's bed time in Taipei and I couldn't be more awake! Oh well, I'll get used to it eventually I'm sure.

God was definitely watching out for me during my travels. It really could not have gone more smoothly! The only tiny hiccup was that the airline in LA initially charged me an extra bag fee for the stroller because I didn't have a baby with me. But then, they came and found me at the gate and gave me the money back. I was planning on calling the airline to try and get refunded, but they beat me to it :)

Two in-flight movies, one episode of The Office, two tv-dinner style meals, one pair of slippers and several naps later, I made it to Taiwan and I'm bubbling over with excitement for tomorrow!!! I can't believe I am going to meet our baby boy in less than 12 hours :) :) :) :) :) :)

Here are some of the things I enjoyed about my travels and short time in Taiwan so far:

Luggage carts at the airport are free :)

I got upgraded to an executive room for FREE for no good reason!

The nice shuttle driver loaded and un-loaded my bags and brought them into the hotel lobby, where a bell-hop then took over and delivered everything to my room :)

They gave me slippers on the plane (as previously mentioned)!

They have cute little beagles at the airport that sniff your luggage for any items that are not permitted through customs :) (Chloe, you would especially like them)

A key card must be in the "lights" slot in the hotel room in order for the lights to work. It's pretty ingenious really; I'm sure it cuts down on wasted electricity!

Not sure about the giant panda?!?

These pictures are for Lance; I knew you would appreciate the technology ;)

The room is very nice, but yeah, the panda is pretty random. Can't wait til tomorrow, or tonight for me I guess.

What did you think of the shower? We had a blast playing with the glass window switch. Cloudy/Clear. Could make for a very embarrassing situation. LOL

Glad you made it safe and sound. Praying for speedy train ride to your handsome son.

We really enjoyed the Novetel too! But somehow we missed out on the Beagles at the airport. But, our flight came in at 11 p.m. Maybe they were sleeping. Love your blogging! Hope your having the time of your life.
